Looking for a quick getaway near Boise? Venture in to the vast network of foothills trails known of as the Ridge to Rivers Trail System. Maps of this extensive trail network are available for purchase in one of the many local outdoor shops such as The Benchmark. The map indicates which trails are pedestrian-only and which are multi-use non-motorized trails. There are also a few 4x4 trails on the map. This trip is a short introduction to the Corrals Trail via a steep connector from a designated parking area. The route follows primitive access roads through cattle grazing lands where you are more likely to see a mountain biker than a cow. Intermittent streams along the way provide welcome shaded relief from exposed hillsides.
